Purdue Polytechnic (USA)

The International Program with Purdue Polytechnic leads students to the award of both the Bachelor of Engineering from UTEC and the Bachelor of Technology - BTech from Purdue, simultaneously. The first four years will be spent in Lima, while the last year of the Bachelor's degree will be developed in Indiana.

Elegibility

Applicants must be current students at UTEC, have approved at least 130 credits and possess a 13.00 GPA or better. Also, we require an excellent level of verbal and written English skills* (all exchange program applicants are required to submit a TOEFL or IELTS certification).

The following applicants are ineligible: UTEC students with a grave disciplinary sanction or suspension from the university and/or with outstanding debts to the institution.

IF YOU ARE CURRENTLY ON A LEAVE OF ABSENCE, YOU ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE. ALL STUDENTS MUST BE IN GOOD ACADEMIC STANDING AT TIME OF PARTICIPATION IN THIS PROGRAM. IN SOME CASES, RECENT GRADUATING STUDENTS ARE CONSIDERED FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE PROGRAM SUBJECT TO A PARTICIPATION FEE.
*The English requirements vary depending on the host university. If you are applying to a non-English speaking country, your TOEFL score will be considered as a reference.

Application Process

You will be asked to fill out the Online Application Form and attach only the following required documentation:

Personal statement written in English.

Current unofficial transcript

Recommendation letter strictly from a UTEC current full-time professor. English language proficiency certification such as TOEFL (minimum score of 550 or higher for iTP or 80 for iBT) or IELTS ( score of 6.5 or higher, with at least 6.0 in each section).

Selection Criteria

After you submit your application, there will be a pre-selection process the next 2 week after the application deadline. If you are eligible, you will be called for a psycho-pedagogical evaluation and asked to sign up for an in-person interview.

Interviews will last ~20 minutes, and will be conducted in English and/or the language of the university you are applying to. This is the most important part of the process, be prepared!
