Overview – Consecutive Master’s program

 

The Bachelor’s degree from UTEC and a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Digital Management from Hyper Island (Sweden), accredited by Teesside University (United Kingdom) have come together to provide a streamlined pathway. 

The Consecutive Master’s Degree Program between UTEC and Hyper Island (Sweden), accredited by Teesside University (United Kingdom) allows students to earn both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s. Students will complete the first four years of their undergraduate studies at UTEC in Lima, Peru and their final year of curricular programming as MASTER-BA Students. 

This program is aimed at UTEC students from Management and Digital Business undergrad, who meet the eligible requirements.

Requirements for the 4+1 program: MA in Digital Management from Hyper Island (Sweden), accredited by Teesside University (United Kingdom).

Applicants must be a full-time current UTEC student of Management and Digital Business
Applicants must have approved 160 UTEC credits and have passed the Proyecto Digital Real, (which is the Internship) before traveling. (Transcript of records in English version will be required)
Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 15.00 or higher
You will be required to submit your Transcript of Records in English version

As an applicant, you must possess an excellent level of verbal and written English skills. You must submit an IELTS (Academic) certificate with a score of 7 or higher, with at least 6.0 in each section

Applicants must possess a valid passport for the duration of their studies abroad or present an evidence of the Passport processing

Applicants will be required to submit an undocumented Curriculum Vitae in English language (1-2 pages max)
Applicants will be required to submit one letter of intent - which is a brief introduction of themselves and why they would want to study this MA program with HI (1-2 pages max)

Applicants must request two recommendation letters from current UTEC professors, the letters must be written in English language

The professors will send the recommendation letter to the following email: exchange@utec.edu.pe with the subject: Recommendation Letter (Students name).

The following applicants are ineligible: 

  • Students with one or more serious disciplinary sanctions or suspension and/or academic risk at UTEC;
  • Students with outstanding debts at UTEC.

If you fulfill all the requirements, you are ready to complete the online application form before the deadline, you will be requested to login with your UTEC account, application with personal accounts will not be considered in this process. To successfully submit your application you will be requested to complete all the information and documents of the online application form before the deadline.

Psychological Test

The internationalization team will review each application and verify the status of each student with the academic and administrative areas at UTEC. After this time, the student that has fulfilled all the requirements requested in the online application form will receive a message to his/her UTEC account to take the psychological test, which has an expiration date of 2 working days.

Interview

When the student has completed the psychological test, the internationalization team will have to wait for the results of the test from Bienestar Estudiantil (2 working days) to schedule the online interview.

After the personal interview, the Internationalization Office at UTEC will contact the selected candidates by email with instructions regarding their acceptance. Selected students must confirm whether they accept or decline the offer by replying via email. Once a student accepts the offer, they will receive a follow-up email with instructions on how to apply to the Hyper Island Master's program.

Hyper Island Process

UTEC pre-selected students must apply to Hyper Island following these general requirements:

  1. Apply with your documents (such as CV, passport, motivation letter, IELTS Academic certificate). The student will send this information directly to sonia.piwnicka@hyperisland.com and please mention in the email that you are a UTEC student.
  2. The information you have provided will support your application and then the Hyper Island Admissions team will arrange an interview between you and the MA Programs team. If successful you will then receive an offer letter.
