UTEC-Harvard SEAS Collaborative Program
This collaborative program is exclusively developed by the University of Engineering and Technology (UTEC) and Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS). It is designed to solve a complex challenge through the joint efforts of students and faculty from both institutions. The first part of the program takes place in Peru, and the second part in the United States.
About the program:
The objective of this program is to explore innovative approaches to assess environmental and public health conditions, and their interrelation, in remote populations within the Amazon Rainforest. Through an interdisciplinary approach, the program seeks to foster a deeper understanding of the existing challenges and generate innovative technology to assess environmental quality and survey the emergence of infectious diseases that aect the well being of local populations, and with them, the sustainability of the Amazon Rainforest. This exploration could also assist Public Health eorts to monitor the emergence of novel diseases on a global scale.
