The Universidad de Ingeniería y Tecnología (UTEC) participated as an exhibitor with its own stand for the fourth consecutive year at NAFSA 2022 Conference & Expo.

After 2 years of virtuality in the context of the global health crisis, NAFSA returned to its face-to-face format, bringing together more than 6,000 specialists in global education and more than 3,500 higher education institutions from 100 countries around the world. The Association of International Educators, better known as NAFSA, was held at The Colorado Convention Center, in the city of Denver, Colorado, from May 31 to June 3.

The main topic of NAFSA this year was "Building Our Sustainable Future" which dealt with the new strategies and advances in international education based on diversity, equality, inclusion and the promotion of sustainability, which seeks to meet the climate objectives defined in The Paris Agreement, and which are part of a global effort to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

“Being at NAFSA as an exhibitor has allowed us to present UTEC's educational offer to the world, as well as strengthen our internationalization strategy with the latest innovations and best practices that focus on the role that international educators play in generating a positive impact to local and global level, in addition to exploring various collaboration opportunities to establish new alliances and strengthen ties with our current partners”. said  Patricia Orbegoso, Head of Internationalization.

NAFSA represents an opportunity to explore new horizons of cooperation with current partners. In addition, it allows us to establish relationships with more than 70 foreign higher education institutions. This opens the door to generate new alliances with strategic partners to enhance our educational offerings and strengthen our Student Exchange, Research Stays, Dual Degrees, Consecutive Masters, Faculty Mobility and Joint Research programs.

“Representing UTEC at NAFSA has allowed us to meet again with our current partners: Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires, Tecnológico de Monterrey, INSPER, SupBiotech, Georgia Tech and to meet our new partner, Universidad del Desarrollo. In addition, we have visited the Colorado School of Mines, in Golden, Colorado, an institution with which we have been collaborating since 2014 and it has received 13 UTEC students in the exchange program”. said  Gabriela Bellido, Global Education and Dual Degree Analyst.

Currently, UTEC has more than 30 global alliances with prestigious institutions around the world. These partnerships have provided diverse on-campus and off-campus opportunities for our UTEC and international community. To date more than 430 students and more than 60 UTEC faculty had a global academic experience and more than 280 international students and 70 international faculty had an academic experience at UTEC.
