This program combines academic studies at Montclair State University in New Jersey (USA) with a professional work experience at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida (USA). It offers UTEC students a six-month opportunity to gain valuable professional experience, build an international network, and earn competitive compensation. The program aims to provide participating students with a unique opportunity to develop entrepreneurial skills, broaden their global perspective, and strengthen their intercultural competence. It also enables students to benefit from the academic resources and facilities of both institutions, as well as the professional learning environment offered by The Walt Disney Company.

Application Process

Eligibility
- Please check all requirements before starting your application and verify the deadline (after the deadline there will be no option to apply)

Requirements for the Disney Academic Exchange Program 2027-1

- Full-time UTEC undergraduate students from all the academic programs, enrolled in the semester 2026-2

- Current students must have at least 40 academic credits approved

- Current students must have at least 13.00 GPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average)

- Able to exit the United States and return to your home university upon program completion

Documents to submit: 

- You will be required to submit your Transcript of Records; you can download the unofficial version totally free from (EDU system).

- Applicants must possess a valid passport for the duration of your studies abroad. You will be required to submit a scanned copy of the personal data sheet. it for at least six months beyond the dates of the trip.

- English language requirement:

*TOEFL iBT score of at least 70
*IELTS score of at least 6.0
*Duolingo score of at least 95
*ITEP: score of at least 3.7
*TOEIC: minimum score of 650
Certifications are valid for 2 years. Certifications with more than 2 years old cannot be accepted for this program.

- 1 motivation essay in English language addressed to Montclair State University (1-2 pages max)

- Curriculum Vitae/ Resume in English language (1-2 pages max)

- Parental Consent Letter (format here)

The following students are not eligible:

• Students who don’t meet the requirements mentioned above

• Students with academic risk at UTEC

• Students with current debt at UTEC

• Students that have/had one or more serious disciplinary sanctions or suspension at UTEC

• Students who do not intend to enroll during the next semester at UTEC

• This program is only addressed to current full-time UTEC undergraduate students, NOT part-time students, alumni, or graduate students.

 

Online Application Form

If you fulfill all the requirements, you are ready to complete the online application form. Before the deadline, you will be requested to login with your UTEC account, applications completed with personal email accounts will not be considered in this process. After the application deadline, students who have successfully completed all requirements and submitted the online application form will be contacted through their UTEC email account regarding the next stages of the selection process. Applicants will receive further instructions to schedule their online interview.

LIVE THE DISNEY EXPERIENCE (Spring 2027)

Our academic program is now divided into two exciting parts:
1. FELICIANO SCHOOL OF BUSINESS MONTCLAIR STATE UNIVERSITY (MSU)

7-Day Program in NJ / New York City - MSU Experience (February 23rd- March 1st 2027 )

* UTEC students have to choose to take 2 courses from this list – please check the course equivalency at UTEC. During the first days at MSU, you will attend intensive classes for your enrolled courses, and during your stay at Disney, you will be completing assignments virtually for those courses. 2. DISNEY INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM

Orlando, Disney (Internship):March 1st– July 29th 2027 

* Students will receive a stipend of 18 USD per hour and total hours between 30 to 37.5 hours per week 
* Accommodation at Disney, Flamingo Crossing Living Accomodation.

*Transportation provided to and from work at no cost.
* Academic Training at Walt Disney HSET 490 + HSET 493 - 6 credits

Flamingo Crossing Living Accomodation
• Housing Cost:

* $227 to $275 USD per week, depending on the type of the unit (shared or private). Which includes utilities like Wi-Fi, water, waste disposal, and electricity (with a cap).

* Deducted directly from paycheck every week

- Transportation provided to and from work at no cost
- Complex is gated with on-site security 24/7
- Fitness Center, Pool, Community Spaces, Study Rooms, and more
- Note: Participants are responsible for food

Cost of the Program

COST OF THE PROGRAM: $6,262.00
The program cost is divided into two blocks:

The first block costs
Disney Program Participation Fee:  $467.00
(Non-refundable fee paid to Disney)

This fee includes:

• Activities and Fees US$240.00

• Housing fee $227 – a portion will be applied to the participant’s housing cost during the first week of the program.

**This payment is only after being selected and having accepted the Disney role.

The second block costs (MSU): $5,795.00
THE PAYMENT INCLUDES:

 • 12 Credits of Coursework (MSU and Disney Experience)

• New York City Experiences!!!

• Required J1 Visa Health Insurance

•  Hotel and Transportation in NewJersey/NewYork

• Most meals during 7 Day MSU Program

• Airfare from New Jersey -> Orlando

• Airport pick up in Orlando and transfer to Flamingo Crossings

DOES NOT INCLUDE:

  • - Student responsible for transportation from Peru to New York (flight tickets)
  • - Housing Cost after first week at Disney
  • - Visa Application Fees
  • - Personal expenses
