Field School in Archaeology – UTEC, Peru
Explore the Past, Engage with the Present
Join UTEC’s Field School in the Cañete Valley and gain hands-on experience in archaeological excavation and heritage analysis at two exceptional sites: the pre-Hispanic coastal center of El Guarco and the historic Casa Blanca Hacienda. This immersive program combines rigorous field training with interdisciplinary research on indigenous resistance, Inca expansion, and the legacies of colonialism, slavery, and agrarian reform in Peru.
Located in a culturally vibrant region near Lima, the field school offers international students the unique opportunity to work alongside Peruvian peers and faculty, deepen their understanding of Andean history, and contribute to heritage conservation efforts in partnership with local communities. It’s not only an academic experience—it’s a cross-cultural journey that connects the past to the present.
